  • MEMS® Cap has been known as the ‘Gold Standard’ in clinical trials and academic research for over 30 years. Following continuous innovation and evolution, it is now in its 8th generation of refinements to improve medication adherence.
  • It records and stores up to 4,000 dosing events corresponding to the date and time when a patient opens the bottle.
  • It is carefully designed to compile the dosing histories of ambulatory patients who are prescribed oral medications. Our integrated MEMS® ecosystem allows the stored information to be transferred at any time from the MEMS® Reader to the MEMS® adherence software for immediate analysis and interpretation.

MEMS® HH (Helping Hand)

  • Based on our unrivaled MEMS® technology, the 8th generation of MEMS® Helping Hand is used by healthcare professionals across the globe.
  • MEMS® HH is a reusable blister sleeve with integrated microcircuits that records the date and time when a patient takes a pill out from the blister. The recording is triggered whenever the blister is removed and when it is inserted in the sleeve. This fully customizable solution can capture up to 4,000 dosing events to provide valuable patient feedback.
  • The Smart version of MEMS® HH features an LCD system which displays the number of doses taken in the past 24 hours and the hours elapsed since the last dose so that patients can take their medications appropriately at the optimal time.
  • Our integrated MEMS® ecosystem allows the stored information to be transferred at any time from the MEMS® Reader to the MEMS® adherence software for immediate analysis and interpretation.

Electronic Dosepak® (EDP) MEMS® Technology

  • Based on our unrivaled MEMS® technology, the Electronic Dosepak®* (EPD) is combined with MEMS® technology and is used by healthcare professionals across the globe.
  • The MEMS® EDP is a digitally enabled version of the Dosepak® adherence packaging. It utilizes MEMS® technology to accurately record the date and time the Dosepak® is opened and closed.
  • Dosepak® is a customizable medication package from WestRock with medication information on the outer carton while pills are delivered in a calendared blister. This sturdy, protective, outer carton is child- resistant and senior-friendly. The carton can be fully customized with branding, educational messages and dosing instructions.
  • MEMS® EDP utilizes re-usable electronics making it an affordable yet effective solution for adherence monitoring in clinical trials and in daily practice.

MEMS® Button

  • Based on our unrivaled MEMS® technology, the 8th generation of MEMS® Button is used by healthcare professionals across the globe in research settings and clinical trials. It can record up to 4,000 dosing events corresponding to the date and time when the central button is pushed by the patient when medication is taken.
  • On its backside, a clip allows the monitor to be attached directly on any medication package or on a dedicated holder, allowing the MEMS® Button and the medication to be kept together.

MEMS® Injectable

  • The 8th generation of MEMS® Injectable is based on MEMS® technology, the Gold Standard in academic research and in clinical trials for more than 30 years. It is being successfully used in multiple clinical settings (e.g. multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.).
  • MEMS® Injectable combines the MEMS® Cap with a disposable container. The dosing event that is timestamped is the disposal time of the injectable (syringe, pen, etc.) into the container.
  • The MEMS® Cap records and stores up to 4,000 dosing events corresponding to the date and time when a patient opens the disposable container.

Cerepack of Westrock for medication adherence

CEREPAK®

  • Cerepak® is one example of MEMS® compatible hardware used in the healthcare space today. It uses custom electronic traces to measure single pill cavity expression from a blister.
  • It is a customizable medication package from WestRock with medication information on the outer carton while pills are delivered in a calendared blister.
  • The adherence-monitoring blister uses a smart card to accurately record the date and time for each specific pill that is removed – a feature critical for managing dose titration and regimens including a mix of placebo and active drugs. This data can be transferred directly into our MEMS® adherence software ecosystem for immediate analysis.
  • Cerepak® is available in multiple sizes, custom branding, custom messaging and custom dosing instructions to ensure full customizability for patients and professionals.

MEMS® Reader

  • Dosing events recorded by MEMS® or MEMS® compatible hardware can be accessed at your fingertips using a MEMS® reader:
  • At point of care whenever a patient is in contact with a healthcare professional or study investigator.
  • At any timea patient uses an NFC compatible phone or tablet.
  • The dosing events recorded by a MEMS® reader are immediately ready for transfer to the MEMS® adherence software. This allows the healthcare professional to eyeball adherence behavior using dedicated views of recorded dosing history data. From this data, healthcare professionals may easily identify specific dosing patterns so they can engage in focused conversations and interventions with patients.
  • Data transmission can be done using dedicated MEMS® USB NFC readers or any NFC compatible phone/tablet.
  • The patient is always empowered as the actor and in power of the transmission of his or her personal dosing history data.
  • All data are securely transferred, stored and encrypted on AARDEX servers.
