Aardex : drug compliance, drug adherence, patient compliance, patient adherence

Future development

"AARDEX initiative, integrity and dedication provide a strong platform for continuing growth..."

AARDEX has, since its founding in 1995, maintained a continuous program of innovation in electronic medication event monitoring, data management, and data analysis. The current generation of the MEMS monitor is the 7th. Over the years, improvements have included a steadily increasing battery life, now out to 3 years, the introduction of non-volatile memory so that medication event data stored in the memory of the MEMS monitor are not lost even if the battery were to fail, introduction of child-resistant closures, fluid-resistant closures, and the option of a visual display in the closure that indicates the time elapsed since the last-taken dose and how many times the package has been opened during the current 24-hr period. These visual cues resolve the occasional uncertainty that arises when the patient cannot recall whether or not he/she has already taken the scheduled dose. A major focus of innovation has been the development of novel statistical methods for analyzing and interpreting drug dosing history data so that customers are able to act rapidly on the basis of the results of real-time data analysis.

We expect to remain the leading source of hardware and software for measuring, analyzing and facilitating patient compliance in virtually every field of pharmacotherapeutics. The latest generation of MEMS monitors, MEMS 7, illustrates our ongoing commitment to bringing state-of-the-art, compact, long-lived, and easily used monitoring capability into the field. MEMS 7 monitor will benefit from all advance technologies of the MEMS 6 monitor plus it will provide direct enriched information to help the patient maintain punctual execution of the prescribed drug dosing regimen. Detailed information will be provided when the product is introduced.
